Bowles succeeds Rupert Thomas who has been at the Condé Nast title for 22 years.
The legendary fashion editor Hamish Bowles has been appointed as the new Editor in Chief of Condé Nast's title, World of Interiors. He has announced that he will also be remaining as global-editor-at-large at American Vogue, where he has worked since 1992.
With 25 years of experience at American Vogue under his belt, Bowles has asserted himself as a celebrated voice in fashion and interiors. He will be leading the magazine into a new era, expanding its audience across digital and video.
World of Interiors was founded in 1981 by Min Hogg and has only seen three editors at the helm in its 40 years of existence. The title is known for its authority on design, interiors and decorative arts.
Bowles commented: "For over four decades The World of Interiors has served as a ceaseless inspiration with its uniquely curated mix of environments and product –from the quirky to the sophisticated, the exquisite to the audacious – providing an invaluable document of the way we live now and a special part of Conde Nast’s history. In my new role, I hope to continue the iconic title’s extraordinary legacy whilst bringing its exciting offerings to new audiences across online, social and video platforms."
