Industry Charity NewstrAid Launches New Website

NewstrAid, the charity which supports people working in the sale and distribution of newspapers and magazines in the UK has unveiled its new website.

Featuring the charity’s new branding, the website – www.newstraid.org.uk – includes a wealth of information about the services on offer to those from the news trade who are facing hardship, including details of how to contact the NewstrAid welfare team for help and support.

In addition, a key feature of the new site is the development of a ‘members’ sign in section where different groups of supporters and beneficiaries will be able to securely login to find targeted information relevant to them and chat with their peers in a private forum, says NewstrAid.

Mike Mirams, CEO for NewstrAid said “We are really excited to be launching our new website. The internet is an important source of new enquiries for us and we hope we have created a clear and informative ‘one stop shop’ for anyone looking for help." He added: “We decided to create a private members area of the site to help build a sense of community for those who work closely with us. Users will be provided with login details so that they are only able to access information relevant to them and each private area will provide a safe space for them to discuss issues and share experiences.”

The website also includes extensive information on how people can get involved in supporting the charity as a volunteer or fundraiser as well as outlining ways people can donate.

Mike Mirams concluded: “We hope that visitors can easily find what they are looking for, be that support because they are facing hardship; information on how they can give something back to the industry by getting involved; or a safe place to chat with their peers.”

The new website went live on 12th November 2020.
