Vogue Hong Kong launches as a multimedia brand

Vogue Hong Kong, the 25th edition of the fashion title, debuts with a bilingual website and print magazine in traditional Chinese on March 3, 2019. The triple cover March issue will go on sale on newsstands citywide in Hong Kong and Macau

The inaugural issue features supermodels Gigi Hadid and Fei Fei Sun on the cover, dressed in Chanel haute couture, the last collection by the late Karl Lagerfeld. The ‘East meets West’ cover story embodies the spirit of Hong Kong through a visionary art direction curated by photographer Nick Knight and Vogue Hong Kong’s Fashion Director Anya Ziourova.

“Hong Kong is a vibrant city with a dynamic fashion and art scene; it has its own style and voice. We tried to create a new Vogue which could convey this distinctive voice and swirling energy. The launch of Vogue Hong Kong will help to cement Vogue as a global brand with an international outlook and local relevance,” said Karina Dobrotvorskaya, Executive Director Editorial Development at Condé Nast International.

Our platform is a showcase for both Hong Kong and international creative talents working together to make a publication and website that is as cosmopolitan and energetic as our home,” said Wong.

Editorial in the launch issue includes a diverse mix of fashion, art, culture and lifestyle content, including a special photo essay collaboration with Hong Kong’s renowned creative director and artist, Stanley Wong. Desiree Au, Publisher of Vogue Hong Kong remarked, "The very essence of the word Vogue means 'what is prevailing' and 'in fashion', and beyond our beautiful photoshoots and insightful articles, we want Vogue to be an advocate for gender equality, diversity and empowerment, which are important to enriching the fabric of our society."
