Harmsworth Media announces senior changes

Nina Wright appointed as Harmsworth Media chair as Roland Agambar named new CEO.

Wright will assume the role in October and will work closely with the new CEO to support the strategic growth across the business in the UK and internationally.

Wright joined New Scientist as Chief Executive in 2018. She has steered the publication through its acquisition by DMGT, the expansion to the US, and its combination with ‘i’ to form Harmsworth Media.
Roland Agambar will be taking on the role of Harmsworth Media CEO, he is currently the Managing Director of Mail Newspapers and will begin his new role with Harmsworth Media this autumn.

Nina Wright, Harmsworth Media and PPA chair said: “I have enjoyed my CEO role establishing Harmsworth Media enormously. It’s an absolute privilege to work on both New Scientist and i, two incredible brands that are very highly regarded, with an abundance of talent and outstanding potential.

“The time is now right for me to step back from the day-to-day running of the business and hand over the CEO reins to Agambar. I can see how passionate, driven, and thoughtful he is, added to his considerable experience and deep-rooted knowledge of our industry, I have no doubt that he will do an exceptional job.”

Lord Rothermere, DMGT Chairman added: “I am immensely grateful to Nina for all her hard work and dedication in leading. She has done an excellent job of building the business to where it is today”.
