Ahead of the debate on 17 April, the PPA briefed MPs about the importance of maintaining EU adequacy, and concerns that the Bill will allow for centralised cookie controls with browsers, at the expense of publishers.
The Government has today launched its AI White Paper which it says will "guide the use of artificial intelligence in the UK, to drive responsible innovation and maintain public trust in this revolutionary technology."

In the Autumn Budget, it has been announced that the government will bring forward the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumer Bill – the legislation that will empower the Digital Markets Unit (DMU) – to parliament in the current parliamentary session (i.e. before next summer). This is a significant victory as before now the Government had only promised to introduce a draft Bill with no timetable on when it would materialise.
