Dawson Media Direct (DMD) has begun servicing a major new contract with Manchester Airport to supply significant numbers of News UK dailies The Sun and The Times via its airside DMD Media Wall displays.
Stylist and ShortList magazines are also available.
DMD Media Wall outlets are an innovative way for publishers to engage with the travelling public on a daily basis, displaying complimentary copies across a range of selected newspaper and magazine titles. They are fully merchandised throughout the day and supported by the latest stock control technology.
In preparation for launch, DMD worked closely with Manchester Airport Group to identify key high-traffic areas for the stands, eventually placing an additional five units to maximise pick-up potential.
“Manchester was the last major British airport whose newspaper supply was not serviced by DMD, so this new two-year contract is an especially significant one for us,” said Richard Bracegirdle, the company’s Operations Manager for the Northwest UK region. “It’s substantial enough to merit additional staff to be recruited and new vehicles deployed to service operations there.”
Manchester is the third largest UK airport, serving over 27 million passengers a year and hosting flights to over 200 destinations on more than 70 different airlines.
DMD Media Wall allows publishers to reach an incredibly valuable premium market segment at a point where they are typically receptive to media sampling and have extended engagement with their reading material.
