Data protection regulation: latest developments and what they mean for publishers

Cookies have become crucial to digital publishing businesses, but in the wake of change, and regulation enforcement, how can you ensure your business is prepared?

Join us for this webinar on Thursday 29 February (10:00-10:40am) where our expert speakers will walk you through the latest developments and what they mean for your business. We will explore the implications of the enforcement action for publishers and discuss how the PPA can be a positive collective voice on behalf of members.

This session is intended to be largely Q&A, attendees are encouraged to submit questions on registration, but there will also be an opportunity to ask questions on the day.

Context

UK data protection law stipulates that organisations must make it as easy for users to “Reject All” advertising cookies as it is to “Accept All”. Websites can still display adverts when users reject all tracking, but must not tailor these to the person browsing.

The Information Commissioner (ICO), who regulates data protection, has warned some of the UK’s top websites they face enforcement action if they do not make changes to comply with data protection law.

This webinar will be particularly useful for C-suite and product, digital strategy, legal, and commercial teams.
