Cosmopolitan, the highest-circulating young women’s glossy, has announced a competition in partnership with flatshare site SpareRoom to offer four individuals a month-long paid scholarship with central-London accommodation included
The four scholarships will be across Cosmopolitan’s features team, beauty team, art team and fashion team. Applicants don’t need any previous experience or qualifications, just a passion for magazines and a willingness to learn.
SpareRoom will offer the successful candidates central-London accommodation for the whole month. Winners will also receive the London living wage and be provided with a central-London travel pass.
Farrah Storr, Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan, says: “We at Cosmopolitan believe that everyone, no matter where they live or what their background, deserves a fair chance to follow their dream career. That’s why we’ve partnered with SpareRoom to launch a competition that will give four outstanding individuals the opportunity to gain invaluable experience on our features, beauty, art and fashion teams where they will each be personally mentored by senior editors while living in central London rent-free for the whole month. We are not asking for any qualifications, just a strong and unique voice or visual eye that has yet to be discovered.”
Matt Hutchinson, SpareRoom Communications Director, says: “Renting is so expensive, particularly in London, which can mean talented people miss out on great opportunities simply because they can’t afford to take them. We’re delighted to work in partnership with Cosmopolitan to make this potentially life-changing experience open to as many people as possible and can’t wait to see the winners’ work in print.”
The competition is open now and closes 8th February 2019. The scholarship will take place during July 2019.
