Dennis Publishing (“Dennis” “Dennis Group”), the international media group, today [Monday 5 November] announces the appointment of Jack Griffin as Chair of the Board with immediate effect.
Mr. Griffin has extensive experience in the US magazine and newspaper industries, having held a number of executive positions at key publishing companies, including CEO of Tribune Publishing Company and President of Meredith Corporation’s National Media Group.
Dennis was recently acquired by UK private equity company Exponent, and Mr. Griffin’s appointment marks the first step in the next phase of Dennis’ development, which will see the company enhance its presence in the UK and US.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Griffin said: “Dennis is a fascinating and well-run company that is bucking trends among much of the publishing industry by demonstrating financial growth. There is a huge opportunity to grow the business through launch and acquisition on both sides of the Atlantic and I look forward to working with the talented team in London and New York to build on its already strong market position.”
James Tye, Group CEO of Dennis, commented: “My team and I are very much looking forward to working with Jack on our plans for the business. We are also excited about working more closely with the US team and growing the business together. Jack’s skills, experience and media expertise will be invaluable in the next phase of growth for Dennis.”
David McGovern, Director at Exponent, commented: “We are delighted that Jack has joined at the outset of our journey with Dennis. He is a highly experienced and successful publisher, bringing a great deal of knowledge and expertise which will prove invaluable in assisting James and his team.”
