Ultima Media, the B2B publishing and events business has appointed Gavin Miller as Managing Director. Miller, who joined the business at the start of 2018 as Commercial Director, takes over the reins from Karen Parks who stepped down in October and will remain an advisor.
Miller has over 20 years’ experience in the media, content and publishing industry.
In this role, Miller will oversee a three-year plan to expand and grow the business, build on its B2B publishing and events heritage as well as create value through marketing, content, digital and data.
With Miller’s appointment comes the news of the launch of Ultima Media’s new in-house content studio, AutoWorks, headed up by Head of Content Solutions, Paula Trainor.
AutoWorks will produce customised content to specific client briefs including online, podcasts, videos, bespoke magazines, books and events from a team of specialist writers, editors, designers, marketers and digital analysts.
Miller commented “I’m delighted to take on the role of leading Ultima Media. My task with the teams is to grow our core B2B publishing, digital and event business by expanding our offer of global news, insight, intelligence and connections, for the automotive industry. We will also explore new revenue streams through paid for content, produce customised content for business and brands operating in the automotive sector through AutoWorks and tentatively explore other verticals that would complement our business.
The publishing and events business was acquired by Suddeutscher Verlag in 2017 and includes a number of brands and channels in its portfolio including Automotive Manufacturing Solutions, Automotive IT International, Car Design News, Interior Motives and Automotive Logistics with a global footprint in territories such as the U.S, Europe, South America and Asia.
