British Vogue and YouTube UK have partnered to launch a new series of masterclasses - Vogue Visionaries. This creative partnership harnesses the reach of both brands to create a series of free online classes that will educate and inspire those who want to make an impact in the worlds of fashion, art, beauty and business.
The last year has been incredibly challenging for many sectors, including the creative industry – and now more than ever, it is crucial to help drive a new era of creative talent by spotlighting, supporting and encouraging the voices of tomorrow to succeed. Through eight videos, each split into short, accessible parts, British Vogue’s closest collaborators will share their expertise. As a platform where so many have been discovered, found a space to create, or communities in which to thrive, YouTube is the perfect collaborator for this new chapter in British Vogue’s Forces for Change story.
Edward Enninful, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue, commented: “One of the joys of being Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue is being able to nurture and discover talent – from photographers and writers to actors, musicians as well as artists, this is something we have in common with YouTube. It is my pleasure to partner with YouTube for Vogue Visionaries – a masterclass for 2021. We will be bringing you eight multi-chaptered episodes from British Vogue contributors and YouTube creators. Whether you are into fashion design, photography or beauty, this is a great chance to learn about your industry. I know our Forces for Change partner, YouTube, are as passionate about fostering new talent as we are.”
British Vogue and YouTube have handpicked some of the most inspiring artists and industry leaders for Vogue Visionaries, offering unrivalled access to some of the UK’s most brilliant creative minds.
Cecile Frot-Coutaz, VP of YouTube EMEA said: "I'm thrilled that YouTube is partnering with British Vogue for this inspiring initiative. Creativity is YouTube's driving force – we're committed to nurturing unique and diverse talent by providing opportunities on an open platform with a truly global reach. With so many in the creative industries facing unprecedented challenges, there has never been a more important time to introduce Vogue Visionaries. The wealth of expertise on offer in these masterclasses – from YouTube Creators to Vogue contributors – can inspire creatives to learn new skills and break into the industry. We're so pleased to be teaming up with British Vogue, a stalwart of the cultural landscape who will help make Visionaries sing."
Vanessa Kingori, Publishing Director of British Vogue commented: “After one of the most challenging years in the creative industries collective history and with so many seeking to change or supercharge their careers and passions, this feels like the perfect time to provide British Vogue's unique insight. It is vital we continue to break down barriers, create new routes to hard-to-access industries and to ensure inclusivity. We are delighted to partner with YouTube to harness their expertise in providing an accessible, free platform for this creative series. I hope that it provides many opportunities for people to maximise their talent and be inspired to pursue their dream.”
Vogue Visionaries in partnership with YouTube is part of British Vogue’s ‘Forces for Change’ initiative which focuses on celebrating the people, organisations and ideas deemed to be forces of positive change. It aims to reach new audiences and celebrate the positive transformation as a result of important conversations around diversity and inclusivity.
