Archant has announced the formation of a new digital journalism team dedicated to breaking regional news.
The creation of the LIVE team, which will serve audiences across Norfolk and Suffolk, follows a successful trial of the service by Archant in London.
Two new positions for LIVE reporters are currently being recruited for and a new Live News Lead will oversee breaking news in the region, from major events to local community developments.
The initiative is being led by Archant’s Head of Digital Audience Emily Hewett who said: "These new jobs provide a fantastic opportunity for ambitious journalists looking to take the next step in their career and play a pivotal role in driving our editorial strategy.
"Our Live reporters will be experts in digital journalism, understand how search works and will be first to publish. Each shift will be varied and of course will include those big breaking moments like major fires and road hold-ups that get people talking – but also the stories going on right in the heart of our communities that our teams will be able to discover via digital search.”
Chief Content Officer Jeremy Clifford added: "We have been trialling the new Live reporting system in London for the past month with outstanding results. With this now extended to Norfolk and Suffolk, we are actively recruiting to fill the roles."
