PPA Signs Vision for Literacy Business Pledge for Fourth Year

The PPA has signed the National Literacy Trust's Vision for Literacy Business Pledge for 2021

The Vision for Literacy Business Pledge was established in 2015 by the National Literacy Forum – a coalition formed of 19 literacy and child poverty organisations and assembled by the National Literacy Trust.

The Pledge garners support from UK businesses, which aid the national literacy campaign through promoting literacy within their own organisations and communities.

The 2021 Pledge will focus on the ways businesses can support children and young people, giving them the skills they need to safeguard against future unemployment caused by the devastating impact on COVID-19. The National Literacy Trust will again provide support for businesses to help with suggestions of activity, and identifying local areas of need.

At the beginning of November, National Literacy Trust hosted an online event to celebrate the work of the Vision for Literacy Business Pledge signatories in 2020. Paul Drechsler CBE, Chair of London First gave the keynote speech. Paul spoke about why it is so important for businesses to support increasing literacy levels, and used his personal experiences to show the positive impact businesses can make in their local communities.

The PPA is part of the Pledge along with over 75 other businesses.
