PPA launches industry-wide salary survey

PPA publisher members are being invited to take part in a fully funded pilot run independently by Alan Jones & Associates.

Designed by the PPA’s People and Culture steering group, the survey has been created for the roles and functions that matter most to trusted editorial brands today.

Participating businesses will receive a personalised report with insights, benchmarking, and decision-making frameworks.

All data shared is strictly confidential. Alan Jones & Associates will manage the data collection and analysis independently, and the results will be aggregated and reported anonymously, so no participating organisation or employee can be identified.

Gen Miller, Strategic Consultant, Talent & Inclusion, PPA commented: “Good pay decisions start with good data, and until now our sector hasn’t had a dedicated benchmark built specifically for our roles and businesses. This survey fills that gap, and its long-term value depends on our members shaping it from the outset. We’d urge everyone to take part.”

The PPA salary survey is timely as the government is set to make it mandatory for employers to publish salary information in job adverts.

There is no cost to PPA members; data is required by 28 August 2026. If you are interested in taking part in the salary survey pilot, email genevieve.miller@ppa.co.uk Businesses are encouraged to agree internally on a single nominated point of contact before starting, this should be someone with full access to remuneration data. This keeps the process efficient, avoids duplicate or conflicting submissions, and gives Alan Jones & Associates one clear line of contact throughout.
