The PPA public affairs team will be working with Dorries after the previous culture secretary, Oliver Dowden MP, moves on to be co-chairman of the Conservative party.
The Conservative party MP for Mid Bedfordshire received a promotion yesterday in the cabinet reshuffle, becoming the 10th culture secretary in 10 years. She takes over from Oliver Dowden who is now the co-chairman of the Conservative Party, replacing Amanda Milling MP.
The PPA looks forward to working closely with Nadine who will be picking up where Dowden left off, collaborating with the PPA Public affairs team on the Digital Markets Unit and the Online Safety Bill.
Dorries has a long history in politics, starting as a special advisor before being elected as an MP in 2005. She is also a published author, writing a trilogy inspired by her childhood in 2013.
The PPA also looks forward to working with new Minister of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, Julia Lopez MP, who has replaced John Whittingdale MP. Lopez started her political career in 2006 working as a researcher for the parliamentary office. She was elected as MP for Hornchurch and Upminster in 2017. She was promoted from the role of Parliamentary Secretary at the Cabinet Office, a role she has held since February 2020.
