Haymarket Medical Network launches healthcare resource on rare diseases

Haymarket Medical Network has launched Rare Disease Advisor to help healthcare professionals (HCPs) recognise, diagnose, refer and treat rare diseases.

The US-focused site is designed to fill an information gap for HCPs by providing difficult-to-find information on rare diseases in one convenient place.

Haymarket said it would act as a comprehensive digital resource that will empower physicians and care teams and improve patient outcomes.

The site also aims to act as a resource for patients and their families, providing them with up-to-date, in-depth and relevant information, including feature articles, daily news briefings, conference and drug launch coverage.

“Patients suffering from rare medical conditions often struggle to be properly diagnosed. I am excited that Rare Disease Advisor will inform HCPs on the innovative therapies being developed and help connect underserved patients to treatment,” said Mike Graziani, President, Haymarket Medical Communications Group.

“We look forward to providing HCPs and the entire care team with the best clinical information and tools.”

The first 13 rare diseases to be focused on, organized as 'Junctions', are:

  • Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)
  • Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
  • Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC)
  • Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)
  • Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST)
