In collaboration with
Content is a precious commodity for publishers, meaning instances of illegal copying come at a cost.
Join us for a webinar on Tuesday 12 November (12.30-1.30pm) where we will explore digital copyright infringement, revealing its impact on publishers and highlighting how they are fighting back and investing in content protection.
Michael Adelman, Content Protection Counsel for Dow Jones
Michael will share insight on the growing battle for publisher legal teams in trying to combat this threat to journalism, including some notable successes for The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s, as well as some disappointing setbacks.
Sophie Hanbury, Director of Strategic Content Partnerships, The Independent
Sophie will explain how The Independent and The Standard were seeing a significant threat to their legitimate licensing business through systematic copyright theft – valuable editorial was published on multiple unauthorised websites and apps. This also impacted the commercial business with unauthorised advertising being served against infringed articles causing damage to their revenue and reputation. Using NLA’s Text Tracker service, they saw 37 illegal sites closed down and 10,000 of their articles successfully removed in 2023.
Matt Aspinall, Head of Commercial Services, NLA media access
Matt will add insight from discussions across the publishing industry and share advice for your content protection strategy through the use of NLA’s ‘Text Tracker’ – an IP protection tool already helping multiple news brands worldwide.
