Last week, three podcast professionals came together for our second PPA Live! event to discuss how publishers can use podcasts effectively and podcast innovation in a COVID-19 world.
Peter Houston, Co-Host of The Media Voices Podcast was joined by Christopher Phin, Head of Podcasts at DC Thomson Media and Laura Rowe, Editor of olive magazine to share views, advice and podcast lessons learnt over the last few years.
With 1 million shows now published on Apple podcasts, regular podcast listeners downloading seven podcasts a week and 18 per cent of British adults listening to podcasts each week, this is an exploding market which is easily accessible for both individuals and publishers.
Having launched the Publisher Podcast Awards earlier this year, Peter Houston shares the lessons they learnt from the huge range of entries they received; Christopher Phin shares advice on the best equipment to use and how to record a podcast from home while Laura Rowe explains how olive from Immediate Media have converted their magazine audience to a podcast audience.
