FIPP announced yesterday that Jamie Gavin will be stepping into the role of acting Editor from next week onwards. He will be covering for current Editor Sylkia Cartagena.

Jamie brings lots of experience to the role, previously working as a videographer, events reporter, features writer and columnist for FIPP. He also founded, and is currently the Managing Director of the media company inPress online.

In his new role he will be commissioning pieces as well as writing them, whilst also managing the strategic direction of FIPP and its future.

Sylkia Cartagena commented: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jamie Gavin for many years and I’m delighted that he’s accepted to take over the editorial leadership of FIPP while I’m away on family duties. Jamie’s passion for all things media, innovation and technology make him an excellent fit to drive FIPP’s editorial journey to the next level.”

Jamie Gavin said: “It’s obviously a huge honour to be named Acting Editor of FIPP, especially in terms of steering the ship for Sylkia, who has been so instrumental in advancing our content offering in recent years. I’ve been involved with FIPP in some capacity or another pretty much my entire career – it’s an organisation that I passionately believe in, along with the wider global industry it supports, and I looking forward to bringing even greater value to that industry from my end over the coming year.”
