BBC Good Food celebrates its 30th Anniversary with podcast launch and cookery class pop-up

BBC Good Food is celebrating its 30th birthday with a bumper anniversary issue, the brand’s first-ever cookery class pop-up as well as announcing its launch of the BBC Good Food Podcast with Tom Kerridge.

Launching in September 2019, with over 10 weekly episodes, the brand-new BBC Good Food Podcast in collaboration with chef Tom Kerridge, and hosted by Orlando Murrin and Rosie Birkett, will delve into Tom's favourite ingredients and recipes, sharing unique experiences and inspiring listeners to cook something new at home. Tom will share his best recipes each week, available on bbcgoodfood.com which are simple enough for anyone to cook.

Since 1989, Good Food has been making it easier to cook and eat well every day with imaginative recipes, kitchen tips and techniques for cooks of all skill levels. To mark the brand’s 30th anniversary, Good Food has launched its first-ever cookery class pop-up to learn new skills with the cookery team. Taking place in London, readers will be given a choice of two different half-day sessions, morning or afternoon, which include a light lunch or supper with wine, a BBC Good Food apron and a goody bag worth £25 to take home.

BBC Good Food began life as a print-only title back in 1989. It now has a website with 26 million unique users, a food app and voice skill as well as a series of cookbooks. It also hosts a number of live events, including the BBC Good Food Show Live at the Birmingham NEC.

The special birthday-themed issue of the magazine features the nation’s favourite dish – curry, created by chef Vivek Singh. The issue also includes exclusive birthday content, looking at 30 moments that changed the nation’s food scene, plus Britain’s top influencers in Indian cuisine will share a recipe of the nation’s favourite dish to mark the occasion.

Chris Kerwin, Managing Director says:BBC Good Food is a remarkable success story and the team has pulled out all the stops with this issue of the magazine, featuring some great content and the launch of our first-ever cookery class pop-up event. Since its launch in 1989, the brand has grown into a market-leading food website with the largest live food shows and best-selling budget cookery books. Our vision is for everyone to eat _Good Food_, whether that means commuters googling speedy midweek suppers or those looking to get fit with our Healthy Diet Plan. Ensuring access to quality food and recipe content, however and wherever people need it, drives all aspects of our brand proposition, from the content we create to the platforms we serve it on. Just in the last year, we have launched a voice skill and been recognised as a trailblazer in the emergent voice space, launched an Instazine and now the brand-new podcast with Tom Kerridge – this brand never sits still ensuring that we are providing quality food and recipe content in the way our audience wants it.”
