Bauer Media UK is to add two new magazines to its successful Puzzles portfolio.
The company, which already publishes a number of Take a Break puzzles magazines, today launches Bella Puzzles Train Your Brain – a brand extension to Bella, one of the nation’s most popular women’s weekly titles.
The monthly title, priced at £2.50, offers 84 pages of challenging puzzles to help train the brain as well as features on mindfulness, well-being and health that will feel familiar to Bella readers.
A second standalone title, Bigger Better Puzzles, hits newsstands on Thursday (14 January) and marks Bauer Media UK’s first dedicated large-print mixed puzzle magazine.
The inclusive 84-page monthly magazine, also priced at £2.50 and available at supermarkets and newsagents, will allow all readers to continue to enjoy their favourite hobby. Popular puzzles (crosswords, wordsearches, Arrowwords, sudokus, codebreakers and more) are printed in a large and easily-legible font, and with larger grids and solutions.
Liz Watkinson, Managing Director of Bauer Media UK’s TV Listings, real-life and Puzzles titles commented: “We have seen a growth in the puzzle magazine market over the last year, especially in lockdown as consumers found comfort and engagement in print puzzles. We all know how important it is to not just keep our body healthy, but also our mind. Bauer Media’s two new magazine launches will help our readers do just that. Bella Puzzles – Train Your Brain is a great extension to the weekly brand focusing on wellbeing and keep our brains active. Bigger Better Puzzles is a unique magazine, offering a mix of larger format puzzles so all readers can access and easily enjoy their favourite past-time.”
Last year Bauer Media announced the development of a new free interactive puzzles section on the Take a Break website as well as content collaborations with Wizarding World and The Alzheimer’s Society.
