Anthem launches new video course venture

Anthem, the Bath-based health and wellbeing publisher, has this week launched its first premium, paid-for video training course.

Working with consultants Curation Studio and production house Walk Tall Media, Anthem has created a six-module Women’s Running Injury Avoidance & Recovery Course hosted on the Teachable platform.

The new video course is the first of a series of programmes that capitalises on Anthem’s depth of knowledge in its key subject areas and the close relationship it enjoys with large numbers of committed readers. The course was shot locally in Bath Spa University and features running coach and Women’s Running contributor, Kerry Sutton, along with physiotherapist Claire Wheller.

Following research feedback from 488 Women’s Running readers, the course focuses on six of the most common and troublesome running injuries, offering advice on diagnosis, recovery plans and preventative exercises. The first module covers the iliotibial band (ITB) injury, before moving on through hamstring injuries, runner’s knee, shin splints, Achilles injuries and plantar fasciitis.

The course retails at £132 and modules are released to subscribers on a weekly basis, complete with supporting materials and lifetime access.

Commenting on the new enterprise, CEO Jon Bickley said:

“This is a major new venture for Anthem as we continue to plot our move to focussing on health and wellbeing, and building new revenue streams to complement our traditional newsstand, subscriptions and advertising strengths. It’s taken a huge effort to create such a high quality, professionally produced learning programme, and embracing a whole new process of marketing and distribution. We’re delighted to now have it live and are looking forward to further releases in the autumn and beyond.”
