PPA New Talent 30 Under 30 Awards 2019 – Winners announced
Last week, on Thursday, March 28, LSO St Luke’s, in the heart of Shoreditch, hosted this year’s PPA New Talent 30 Under 30 Awards, recognising the best and brightest upcoming talent in the professional publishing industry
Ellie Austin scored a job at Immediate Media as a Features Writer for Radio Times after graduating from the Magazine Journalism MA course at City University. Here she talks about working in the fast-paced world of a major weekly magazine and the power of a good coffee.
This year’s host Grazia Editor Hattie Brett commented to the young hopefuls, before the presentation, “The joy of this job is that it takes you to all sorts of places, but always to the heart of a story – and the you have the power to shape the story for your audience.”
PPA CEO, Barry McIllheney, remarked that it was, “a genuine thrill to see a roomful of so many people, so enthusiastic, so passionate about this wonderful industry of ours,” noting his own receipt of a PPA Award 34 years previously.
