Bauer Media to publish Take a Break Pets as a companion to best-selling weekly title Take a Break
Bauer Media’s Take a Break, is to launch a companion magazine aimed at pet lovers this week
Ellie Austin scored a job at Immediate Media as a Features Writer for Radio Times after graduating from the Magazine Journalism MA course at City University. Here she talks about working in the fast-paced world of a major weekly magazine and the power of a good coffee.
The magazine features amazing true life stories that celebrate all creatures great and small, including...Laura Mason, whose King Charles Spaniel tackled her mugger, Charlotte Brayley, whose sheep Alan helped pay for her big day and Heather Eyley, whose 20 guinea pigs helped put a smile back on her face.
Elsewhere in the issue, experts are on hand with the latest tips and advice and TAB Pets‘ resident vet and trainer answers readers’ questions. Readers can also enjoy a feature on pet-friendly travel, fashion, fiction and fun puzzles as well as a chance to win over £2500 in pet prizes.
Commenting on the launch, Liz Watkinson, Managing Director of Bauer Media’s real-life, TV and puzzles portfolios said, “Take a Break Pets will tap into the huge popularity of pet ownership across all ages. People love their animals and are keen to share their adventures, their stories and all the tips they have picked up through having pets as part of their family. Take a Break has a large and engaged reader community, and pets is another subject that inspires them to join in and share their experiences with each other.“
Take a Break Pets hits newsstands on Thursday 6 June, priced at £1.99 and will remain on sale for eight weeks. It is available to purchase through all major retailers and online at greatmagazines.co.uk/takeabreakpets. Further issues of Take a Break Pets will be published in 2019 if newsstand sales targets are achieved.
